National Strategies & Initiatives
An analytical exploration of the interconnected national strategies, innovation frameworks, and measurable outcomes that define the UAE's journey from vision to reality.
50-Year National Charter
The UAE Centennial 2071 represents the most ambitious long-term national development plan in the Arab world — a 50-year strategic charter launched in 2021 that envisions the UAE as the best country in the world by its centennial anniversary. Unlike conventional national development plans that operate on 5–10 year cycles, the Centennial 2071 takes a generational perspective, ensuring that today's policy decisions create enduring value for future Emiratis.
The strategy is built on four interlocking pillars: a future-focused government that is agile and innovative; an excellent education system that prepares citizens for the knowledge economy; a diversified, knowledge-based economy that creates sustainable prosperity; and a cohesive, happy society that values tolerance, diversity, and civic engagement.
H.E. Al Roumi plays a central role in the governance pillar — ensuring that the institutional architecture of government evolves continuously to support the Centennial's ambitious targets. Her ministry's foresight capabilities, digital infrastructure, and human capital programs are all directly aligned with Centennial 2071 outcomes.

100-Day Sprints
The Government Accelerators program is perhaps the most radical innovation in government project management methodology in modern history. Launched under H.E. Al Roumi's strategic direction, the program compresses what traditionally takes years of government planning into focused 100-day sprints — assembling cross-ministerial teams to tackle specific national challenges with startup-like urgency.
Each sprint begins with a clearly defined challenge, assembles the relevant stakeholders from across government, applies design thinking and agile methodologies, and delivers measurable outcomes within the 100-day window. The program has completed over 80 sprints, resolving challenges in healthcare, education, housing, transportation, and environmental policy.
The methodology has been so successful that it has been studied and adopted by over 30 countries — making it one of the UAE's most significant exports in governance innovation.
